MLC Elementary, Cedar Class inspire with music

Students perform pair of spring concerts

Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) Elementary (PreK-to-4) and Cedar Class (Grades 5/6) students inspired audiences with performances in a pair of spring concerts tonight (Friday, April 28), in the school’s Music Room.

The younger classes opened the musical interlude with their program, which was followed by the vocal and instrumental concert by upper elementary students.

Directing both concerts was the school’s vocal/instrumental music director and drama coach, Aaron Petersen.

Pre-K-to-4th Grade features ‘The Mall of Faith’

The preschool class was the opening act in this program, presenting Brian Howard’s “It’s A Beautiful Day.”

The kindergarten-through-grade four performance of “The Mall of Faith,” based on “Bible Hero Gap” by The Skit Guys followed. The musical, set in a clothing store in the Mall of Faith, is inspired by Herbrews 11, and gives a boost to anyone who has heard God’s call, but is a bit scared to answer it. In the skit, a “hero-in-training” (Martha) gets a pep talk from some big-time Bible heroes (Abraham, Isaac, Deborah, Rahab, Moses, Daniel and Noah), and learns that you don’t have to be one of the Heroes of Faith to be used by God; for He can use any of us.

THE MLC PRESCHOOL Class concur that, “It’s A Beautiful Day.” Class members include Cambrie Bartel, Penelope Bartel, Kaylyn Booze, Elijah Dirks, Brayden Froderman, Avery Lessmeier, Jaeylen Melson, Knoxyn Barrett, Emily Clerc, Adryana Falk, Addyson Hall, Austin Janzen, Evalyn Luna, Breckin Meyer, Joshua Onken, Norah Siebert and Evelyn Stoneking.
