Lillian Windschitl

Mass of Christian Burial for 90-year-old Lillian Windschitl will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 18, 2017, at Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth, Minnesota. The church is located at 30868 Brown County Road 24.

Interment will be in the church cemetery, located near the church.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017, at Sturm Funeral Home-Sleepy Eye Chapel. The funeral home is located at 301 3rd Avenue S. W. A second visitation will be at the church the day of the service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Lillian Anna Windschitl was born on February 16, 1927 in Mulligan Township, Brown County, the daughter of George Frank and Florence Anna (Poss) Eisenbacher.

Lillian married Casper E. Tiedeken on June 26, 1946 at the Mater Dolrosa in Madelia, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1953. She later married Emil G. Windschitl on September 14, 1955 at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1976.

Lillian lived in Madelia, Leavenworth and Comfrey. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, and baking. She was a member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs and the CCW.

She is survived by her children, Casper (Linda) Tiedeken of New Ulm, Minnesota, Cheryl (John) Kachelmeier of Silver Lake, Minnesota, Clem (Suzanne) Windschitl of Sleepy Eye, Myron (Joan) Windschitl of Comfrey  and Bernard (Bernadette) Windschitl of Houston, Minnesota; 18 grandchildren, and several great- and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Roger (Margaret) Eisenbacher of Iowa, Rita Bidwell of Willmar, Minnesota and Agatha Frank of Paynesville, Minnesota and sisters-in-law, Polly Eisenbacher, and Jackie Eisenbacher, both of Spicer, Minnesota and Judy (Minson) Eisenbacher of Montana.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Geraldine; grandchildren, Sandra and Stacy; son-in-law, Ralph Thul; brothers, Walter, Kenneth, Donald, Harold, Leonard and Earl; sisters, Arlene, Marion, Marjorie and Helen; sisters-in-law, Vivian Eisenbacher, Geraldine Eisenbacher, and Kay Eisenbacher and brothers-in-law, Milford Bidwell and Glenn Frank.
