Funeral services for 63-year-old Lamphone Naveunxay of St. James, Minnesota, will held at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon, January 20, 2017, at Sturm Funeral Home-St. James Chapel. The funeral home is located at 906 10th Avenue South.
Visitation will be at the funeral home the day of the service beginning at 12 noon.
Lamphone Naveunxay passed away at his home on Monday, January 16, 2017.
Lamphone Naveunxay was born in Laos on April 15, 1953. He joined the Laos Army when he was 18-years-old and received an honorable discharge at age 26. He came to the United States in 1986 with his wife and children. They lived in Tucson, Arizona and later in several towns in Minnesota, including Mountain Lake, before moving to St. James.
Lamphone loved building his garden, watching sports and the Minnesota Vikings. He loved to go kick his hacky sack and spin kicks in the morning. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and off-roading.
He is survived by his wife Khamphian of St. James; children; Keooudone of St. James, Daovone and Alvin, Khonesavahn and Jason and Lah and Donnie, all of Lawton, Oklahoma, Lance and Stephanie of El Paso, Texas and Sandy and Jonathan, both of St. James; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two brothers and two sisters in Laos.
Preceding him in death were his son, Banh; parents and a brother.
