Funeral services for 82-year-old Bonnie Lou Brown of Springfield, Minnesota, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning, January 23, 2017, at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey, Minnesota. The church is located at 204 Court Street South.

Interment will be in Springfield City Cemetery, located at Brown County Road 24.

Visitation will be at the church on Sunday, January 22, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and again on the day of the funeral services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Bonnie Brown passed away on  Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Bonnie Lou Brown was born on September 6, 1934, the daughter of Arnold and Cleo (Jensen) Wendt in Springfield. She attended Springfield Public Schools and then worked as a waitress.

She met and married Al Brown on May 18, 1952. They lived on the family farm until Al retired from farming. They were owners of Brown Transfer until their son Mark took over the business in the mid 1990’s.

Bonnie was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey and enjoyed camping, cooking, baking and taking care of her home. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family on vacations and trips to the lake.

She is survived by her children, Mark and Linda Brown of Springfield, Paula and Steven Junker and Steven and Becky Brown, all of Comfrey; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnie and Cleo Wendt; husband, Allan, in 2011; and sisters, Janice Waskosky and Lois Halvorson.
