Marian Eineke

Funeral services for 83-year-old Marian Joan Eineke of St. James, Minnesota, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 5, 2017, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. James, with Reverend Martin Lopahs officiating. The church is located at 315 9th Street South.

Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in rural St. James, south of the city on Watonwan County Road #27.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Sturm Funeral Home-St. James Chapel, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral home is located at 906 10th Avenue South. A second visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral service, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Marian Eineke passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Springfield, Minnesota.

Marian Joan Falk was born January 31, 1930, the daughter of John and Marie (Fast) Falk in Butterfield, Minnesota. Marian was raised in Butterfield, where she graduated from Butterfield Public High School.

She married Lorenz Eineke on October 10, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. James. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Lorna, Richard and Lyle.

Marian worked in St. James at the dry cleaners, Sears, JCPenney, and Johnson’s Hardware before her retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, her card club and coffee with her friends at The Crescent Café. She had a love for animals, especially her horse and her cat.

Marian is survived by her children, Lorna, Richard (Joyce) and Lyle Sr; grandchildren, Sandra (Sam), Jason, Alexis (Darren), Megan, Lyle Jr and Trent; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law,Luella Sonnabend and niece: Carol Lyons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenz; her parents; her sister Minnie Quiring and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
