Wolverine Boys Basketball Teams to salute past squads this season
This winter sports season, the Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverines Boys Basketball Team, under Head Coach Shawn Naas will be saluting a pair of teams from seasons past.
On Saturday, December 3, prior to the Varsity Game, the 2003-2004 Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin (MLBO) Boys Basketball Team will be honored. The team was the first MLBO squad to win the Red Rock Conference with an undefeated 16-0 undefeated conference record, going 23-2 overall.
Team members included Sitt Thamavongkeo, Kyle Ott, Sipone Soungsouvandy, Grant Wall, Max Hoge, Travis Ratzlaff, Matthew Myers, Tyler Myers, Josh Oakland, Danny Snyder, Keith Thompson, Mark DeYounge, Don Speikers, Bradley Green and Danny Speikers. Coaches were Shawn Naas and Tim Kirk.
Mankato Loyola will be in town on December 3, with B-Squad tip-off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Varsity tilt.
The 2011-2012 Minnesota State Class A Tournament Team will be recognized later in the calendar, on Thursday, December 29 during the Holiday Tournament.
