scott-eadsMemorial services for 40-year-0ld Scott Eads of New Richland, Minnesota, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, September 17, 2016, at NRHEG (New Richland, Hartland, Ellendale, Geneva) High School in New Richland. The Reverend Paul Andree and Pastor Michael Omtvedt will officiate. The school is located at 306 South Ash.

Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Friday, September 16, 2016. The church is located at 204 1st Street N. W.

Scott Michael Eads passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 in Freeborn County.

Scott Michael Eads was born on October 17, 1975, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, the son of Lonny and Constance (Baarts) Eads. He was a graduate of Mountain Lake High School in 1994 and later graduated from Mankato State University in 1998 with a degree in law enforcement. He did security work in Minneapolis from December 1998 to March 1999.

Scott married Candace Palm on May 20, 2000, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Mountain Lake, where both he and his wife had been baptized and confirmed. To this union, two beautiful children were born.

He began his law enforcement career as a police officer/interim Chief in Truman, Minnesota from March 1999 to September 2000. In October 2000, Scott was hired as a police officer in New Richland. He was currently serving as Chief of Police, a position he’d held since 2007.

Aside from work, Scott enjoyed drawing, karaoke, playing cards, target practice at the range and taking family trips. Most importantly, Scott put his trust in the Lord, and was a man of strong faith.

Scott will be greatly missed by his family: wife, Candace, and children, Severin and Eden all of New Richland; his parents, Lonny and Connie Eads of Mountain Lake; his sister, Jill (John) Hart of Hudson, Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Timothy (Lisa) Palm of St. Cloud, Minnesota and their children, Emily, Nicholas and Reece; sister-in-law, Teresa (Bruce) Burns of Humboldt, Iowa, and their children, Tanner, Shelby, Sydney, and Alex (Faith) and their children, Elijiah and Malachi; brother-in-law, Christopher (Stephanie) Palm of Hastings, Minnesota and their children, Luke, Samuel and Madelyn; as well as other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Bertha Palm and his grandparents.
