Mass of Christian Burial for 90-year-old Deloris Kastner will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, August 5, 2016, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey, Minnesota. The church is located at 218 Field Street North.
Interment will be in the church cemetery, located north of Comfrey on Highway 258.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 4, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home-Comfrey Chapel, located at 101 Field Street North. A second visitation will be held at the church the morning of the funeral mass from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Deloris Mary Kastner was born on March 11, 1926, in Sanborn, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Anna (Wolf) Vogel. She was united in marriage to Joseph Kastner on June 12, 1946 in Sanborn, during a double-wedding ceremony with her sister.
The couple farmed for 15 years near Sanborn, then owned and operated Kastner Ford in Comfrey from 1962-1979. During that time, Deloris worked at the Comfrey Hospital, Colburn’s Grocery and Peter’s Bar and Grill, all in Comfrey. She later worked at Jackpot Junction in Morton, Minnesota until moving to Texas in 1988. She returned to Minnesota in 2010.
Deloris was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the CCW. She enjoyed garage sales, bowling, ceramics, parades, jigsaw puzzles and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by children, Stachia (John) Schumacher of Comfrey, Larry (Sally) Kastner of Mound, Minnesota Linda (Scott) Zeig of New Ulm, Minnesota, Lonnie (Gary) Carlson of South Haven, Minnesota, Rick (Michelle) Kastner of Comfrey, Reggie (Heidi) Kastner of Litchfield, Minnesota, Dan (Dawn) Kastner of Fairmont, Minnesota and Joe (Robin) Kastner of Northfield; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren (with two more on the way); one great-great-grandchild; sister, Mary Ann Davis of Minneota, Minnesota; brother, Gerhardt Vogel of San Diego, California and sister-in-law, Marianne Vogel of St. Peter, Minnesota.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Joseph in 1986 and grandson, David Wolle.
