Butterfield woman injured in late morning motorcycle accident

Thirty-nine-year-old Amy Pankratz of Butterfield received non-life-threatening injuries late this morning (Sunday, June 19) when the 2001 Harley motorcycle she was riding struck a deer. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Pankratz was traveling eastbound on Minnesota State Highway #60 at Watonwan County Road #12 at 11:54 a.m., when the motorcycle hit the deer and she put down the bike. She was not wearing a helmet.

She was taken by St. James Ambulance Service to Mayo Health System-St. James, with non-life-threatening injuries. Pankratz was later transferred to Mayo Health System-Mankato.

No damage to the motorcycle was reported.
