THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Area (MLA) Wolverines Varsity Girls Basketball squad dropped a low-scoring conference Saturday night, January 23 game at home to the Hills-Beaver Creek (HBC) by five, 41 to 35. The Wolverines trailed by nine a the half (23 to 14) and in the second half, managed to climb within striking distance, but just couldn’t pull it off. Senior guard Signey Stoesz had 12 points for MLA. The squad is now 7-6 overall. The squad, coached by Wayne Klassen, will play a home game on Tuesday, January 26 match-up with Martin Luther. The club makes the trip to Ellsworth on Friday, January 29.
