THE WOLVERINE BOYS dropped a close Monday, January 25 non-conference game at home to Madelia by five, 68-63. The Blackhawks held a five-point lead at the half, 40-35 and maintained that cushion to the end. Junior guard Levi Stoesz had a good all-around night for Mountain Lake Area (MLA), scoring 14 points, grabbing five boards and dishing out four assists. Sophomore Marcus Boyd chalked up 10 points. The Wolverines, 10-6 overall, 8-2 in Red Rock Conference play, will make a trip to Westbrook for a conference match-up with Westbrook/Walnut Grove on Thursday, January 28. Head Coach Shawn Naas’ squad returns home Monday, February 1 to face Heron Lake/Okabena in another Red Rock game. On Tuesday, February 2, Edgerton will be in town for a weather-postponed make-up conference game.
