THE WOLVERINE BOYS were clipped by the visiting Red Rock Central (RRC) Falcons by three – 59 to 56 – in a Red Rock Conference match-up on Tuesday, January 19. Mountain Lake Area (MLA) failed to connect on two three-point shots as time wound down. The Wolverines had a four-point lead at half, 29 to 25. Junior guard Levi Stoesz scored 11 points, teamed with eight boards and four assists. Senior teammate Ryan McCue added 10 pounds and 10 rebounds. The MLA squad, coached by Shawn Naas, has a 9-5 season record; 6-2 in conference play. Next up for the Wolverines is a road trip to Adrian on Friday, January 22. They return home to face Madelia on Monday, January 25. On Thursday, January 28, the team makes a trip to Westbrook to take on Westbrook/Walnut Grove.
