Spinks, Borsgard champs at LCWM Wrestling Tournament

W/ML Cobras place fifth as a team

A COUPLE OF Windom/Mountain Lake (W/ML) Cobra Wrestlers finished as champs at Saturday’s (January 16) Lake Crystal/Wellcome Memorial (LCWM) Wrestling Tournament. Zach Spinks was one of the two standing atop the podium at 113 pounds after recording three pins. The second champion was Alex Borsgard at 126 pounds. Placing second at 132 was Evan Wiens, losing in the championship match by a pin. Eli Mutz was third at 195, while Hunter Ekstrom at 113 and Julio Gutierrez at 220 were fourth. At 285, Junior Garcia finished fifth and Nick Curry ended in sixth at 120. As a team, W/ML was fifth with 95 total team points. Host LCWM won the team title with 186.5 points. There will be a Cobra Tri Meet against Pipestone and Red River Valley in Windom on Tuesday, January 19.
