Wolverine boys basketball wins over the Knights

Second half 25-3 run sparks MLA victory

A HOT START to the second half blazed the Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Varsity Boys Basketball squad to a 14-point home victory over Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (SESM), 63 to 49 on Tuesday, December 8. At halftime, MLA had only a three-point lead at 33-30. Then the match was lit and the Wolverines burned the nets for a 25-3 run to quash the visiting Knights. Junior Levi Stoesz finished with 19 points, senior Ryan McCue tallied nine points, five boards and three steals and another junior, Tommy Kraemer added seven points and nine rebounds. The Shawn Naas-coached team now stands with a 2-4 overall record. Their next game is Monday, December 14, when they travel to Red Rock Central (RRC) at Lamberton.
