IT WAS A sweet home victory for Head Coach Naas and the Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverines Varsity Boys Basketball squad as they notch their first win on the season. They topped the visiting Westbrook/Walnut Grove (W/WG) club by 22, 78 to 56. Leading the Wolverines in the contest was senior guard Ryan McCue, amassing 16 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Junior Levi Stoesz tallied 18 points to lead all scorers. Stoesz played in his first game of the season, coming back following a football injury. Another senior Wolverine, Chris Boyd, played a solid game for the victors. MLA was up by 13 at the half, 43-30, and marched on to the victory. The team is now 1-4 on the young season. Next up for the team is a Tuesday night, December 8 game at home against Sleepy Eye St, Mary’s.
