Lady Wolverines post big win over W/WG

MLEA led by 12 at the half and continued forward for the win

THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Area (MLA) Lady Wolverines Varsity Basketball squad played on-the-road at Westbrook to face Westbrook/Walnut Grove (W/WG) Tuesday night, December 8, but the confines were found to be comfortable for senior Signey Stoesz. Stoesz ripped the nets for 36 for MLA’s 64 points to lead the team to a 64-52 win. In addition, Stoesz nabbed 13 rebounds. Senior Chanah Brandt had nine points, with junior Liana Blomgren scoring eight points and grabbing 13 rebounds. The Lady Wolverines held a 12-point lead at the half, 33-21 and went forward without looking back for the victory. The Wayne Klassen-coached club is now 2-1 overall and will next play Adrian at home this Friday, December 11.
