edith kingServices for 100-year-old Edith A. King of Springfield, Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning, September 27, 2015, at Chapel of the Good Shepherd at St. John Nursing Home in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the chapel the day of the funeral service.

St. John Nursing Home is located at 201 South County Road #5.

Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery, located on Brown County Road #24.

Sturm Funeral Home-Springfield Chapel is handling the funeral arrangements.

Edith King passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Edith A. King was born on November 13, 1914, in New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of Fritz and Emma (Prahl) Buddensiek. She attended District #52 in Brown County.

She was united in marriage to Marvin King on July 8, 1941 at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey, Minnesota.

Edith was involved with the Comfrey Senior Citizens and a member of Salem Lutheran Church and New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. She enjoyed traveling, family, visiting, time with little children, playing cards and flowers.

She is survived by sisters-in-law, Rosella Buddensiek of Mankato, Minnesota and Marilyn King of New Ulm and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Marvin in 2002 and siblings, Melvin Buddensiek, Hilda Heller, Erma Colburn and Rollie Buddensiek.
