Dr. Michael James ‘honored’ to lead school into a new phase in its long history
“I am honored to have been chosen to lead MLC (Mountain Lake Christian) into this new phase in its long history.”
This is how the new administrator for the preK-12th grade non-denominational Christian school – Dr. Michael James – introduced himself to staff, students and their families.
Dr. James and his family arrived in Mountain Lake, and at MLC, after serving a two-year mission term at Dakar Academy, an ACSI-accredited missionary school in Dakar, Senegal.
Prior to that, he was the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dr. James initially received his Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, followed by his Master of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, located in College Park, Maryland.
Most recently he received his Doctor of Education degree from Creighton University in Omaha.
He and his wife, Candace, have been married for 17 years and have three children, Carter, Regan and Monroe. Carter will be a high school sophomore, Regan is entering eighth-grade and Monroe will be a fourth-grader in the fall.
