Three vehicles, three drivers involved in Jackson County accident

No one is seriously injured

Three vehicles – and three drivers – were involved in an early morning accident in Jackson County on Tuesday, July 7. Fortunately, none of the drivers was seriously injured.

The Minnesota State Highway Patrol reports that the multiple collision occurred at 7:06 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the intersection of United States Highway #71 and Jackson County Road #16.

A Kia Rio, driven by 39-year-old Lynette A. Olson of Lakefield was eastbound on County Road #16 when it collided with a 1998 Kenworth semi-tractor and trailer heading northbound on Highway #71, and driven by Glen G.
Ostrander, 61, of Buffalo Center, Iowa. The Kia bounced off the Kenworth and struck a 1997 Geo Tracker heading southbound on Highway #71, driven by David A. Rasmussen, 49, of Windom.

Olson was transported to Sanford Jackson Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Both Ostrander and Rasmussen had no apparent injuries.

The Kia was considered a total loss, while the Kenworth and the Geo each received moderate damage.

Assisting the Minnesota State Highway Patrol was the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
