MLC Speech Team competes in new venue

Participate in Montevideo Invite; team is sixth of 18, strong performances by all six members

It was a new venue of competition for the Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) Speech Team on Saturday, March 14, as they traveled to participate in the Montevideo Invite.

Of the 18 participating schools, the MLC’s six-member squad finished sixth.

Team members produced strong performances in their respective categories. No double entries were allowed.

Individual results were:

* Elijah Stoesz – second in Informative Speaking.

* Caitlyn Smith – second in Great Speeches.

* Melissa Lohrenz – second in Poetry.

* Danica Dick – second in Storytelling.

* Josh Raabe – sixth in Humorous Interpretation.

* Also competing was Katelyn Fast in Prose.

The team’s coach is Kim Friesen. Serving as parent chaperone for the meet was Sheryl Fast.
