Contest featured more than 420 entries by 320 competitors representing 25 schools
The Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) Speech Team closed out their regular season this past Saturday, March 28, with a meet at New Ulm Public High School.
The contest featured more than 420 entries by 320 competitors representing 25 schools. MLC placed 15th with nine entries by the team’s six competitors.
Individual awards were as follows:
* Danica Dick – third-place in Storytelling.
* Caitlyn Smith – sixth-place in Great Speeches and a blue ribbon in Poetry.
* Josh Raabe – seventh-place in Humorous Interpretation.
* Elijah Stoesz – blue ribbon in Original Oratory and red ribbon in Informative Speaking.
Also competing were Melissa Lohrenz and Katelyn Fast.
The MLC “Speechies” competed in the Sub-Section Speech Meet today (Monday, March 30) at Fairmont Public High School.
The team is coached by Kim Friesen.
Representing MLC as a judge for the contest was Nordis Olson, with Cheryl Dick as parent chaperone.
