Heritage Village holds annual meeting

Past year reviewed; Erland Braun, Bill Baerg return to Heritage Village Board, Jim Crawford is newcomer

The Heritage Village Board of Directors hosted the annual meeting, including dinner, entertainment, year-in-review and board elections on Monday, February 16, in the Mountain Lake Community Center.

Musical entertainment was provided by Ken Schons of Sleepy Eye.

Chairing the business meeting in the absence of Board Chair Alvin Dick, was Board Member Mike Nelson. Bill Baerg, a board member, opened the meeting with prayer.

The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were presented, as well as a look at the 2015 Budget and a summary of the past year at Heritage Village, including tours and guests and the traditional second Saturday in September Heritage Fair – or Utschtallung.

Volunteer Becky Epp shared about the duties of the volunteers at Heritage Village, including taking care of the grounds, flower beds and specific buildings.

Waldo and Geneva Stoesz, a board member, acted as storytellers by recalling memories of the past in relation to the various buildings on the Heritage Village grounds, as well as about a number of items on display in them.

Re-elected to the board were Erland Braun and Bill Baerg, while a newcomer joining them on the decision-making body is Jim Crawford, replacing retiring Gary Hildebrandt. Other board members include Larry Brandt, Harvey Buller, Alvin Dick, Jim Dick, Marilyn Feil, Harlan Franz, Mike Nelson, Betty Lou Ratzloff and Geneva Stoesz.

Memberships to Heritage Village are available for $25 for an individual and $40 for a family.

The awarding of door prizes ended the meeting.
