mlc gift of the magiThe Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) 7-12 Drama Class will present “The Gift of the Magi,” a timeless tale of love and generosity set in turn of the 20th century New England in the MLC music room on Friday evening, December 19 at 7 p.m. and Saturday afternoon, December 20, at 3 p.m. The school is located at 710 11th Street North.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students and free for those pre-k and under. They are available for purchase at the MLC office.

Light refreshments will follow the play.

Directors for the production are Aaron Petersen, MLC’s K-12 music instructor and band and choir director, and his wife, Nikki Petersen.

“The Gift of the Magi” is a short story-turned-into-a-play, written by O. Henry (the pen name for William Sydney Porter). The plot is about a young married couple and how they deal with the challenge of buying secret Christmas gifts for each other – with very little money – and features a “twist ending.”

It is a sentimental tale that features a moral lesson about gift-giving.
