Ross Blomgren

ross blomgrenFuneral services for for 16-year-old Ross Blomgren of Butterfield, Minnesota will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, December 18, 2014, at Butterfield-Odin Public School.  The school is located at 440 Hubbard Avenue.

Interment will be in Butterfield City Cemetery in rural Butterfield, located south of Minnesota State Highway #60 on Watonwan County Road #5.

Reverend K. Christian Johnson will officiate at the services.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Sturm Funeral Home-St. James, located at 906 10th Avenue South in St. James, Minnesota and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the school the day of the funeral service.

Ross Isaac Blomgren passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Ross Isaac Blomgren was born on April 2, 1998, in Windom, Minnesota, the son of Kurt and Kelly (Hoppe) Blomgren. He grew up in the Lutheran Church and was baptized on April 26, 1998.

Ross grew up in the Butterfield area, where he was a junior at Butterfield-Odin Public High School. Ross loved socializing with his friends and family. He loved making people smile and laugh. He especially enjoyed acting, singing and playing his trombone and French horn. His infectious smile, sense of humor and positive attitude impacted everyone he met. Ross enjoyed singing with the Windom Area Chord Hustlers vocal group and performing at the Minnesota State Fair Arts-In. Ross enjoyed time he spent with his church youth group and his 4-H club.

He is survived by his parents, Kurt Blomgren of Butterfield and Kelly and Brad Hanson of Mountain Lake;  sister and brothers, Jenna Blomgren of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Vance Blomgren of St. James and Stuart Blomgren of Minneapolis, Minnesota; step-brothers, Dylan and Dayton Hanson of Mountain Lake; grandparents, Freeman and Marian Hoppe of St. James and Clarence and Vivian Blomgren of Mountain Lake; step-grandparents, Mark and Sharron Hanson of Mountain Lake; aunts, uncles and cousins, Terri (Mike) Kircher of St. James and daughters Katelyn, Danielle and Rachel, James (Darla) Hoppe of St. James and sons Ethan (Emily), Logan, Colin and Landon, Kent Blomgren of Huxley, Iowa and daughters Anna and Abigail, Kyle (Kim) Blomgren of Butterfield and children Kyle Jr., Adam, Liana and Ryan, Cory (Joan) Blomgren of Lamberton, Minnesota and sons Thomas, Evan, Trenton and Karen (Brad) Olson of River Falls, Wisconsin and children Anders and Kathryn and Osten and step-aunts, step-uncles and step-cousins, Brent (Kathy) Hanson of Windom and son Logan and Tina (Chris) Hasselbring of St. Joseph, Minnesota and daughter Chloe.
