MLC High School Music Department’s Christmas concert shares Advent Reflections

The Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) High School Band and Choir, under the direction of the school’s k-12 music department director, Aaron Petersen, shared a Christmas program of Advent Reflections by lighting the candle of hope, peace, joy, love and Christ with vocal and instrumental music, punctuated by readings. This concert of the season was held in the school’s new music room on Thursday evening, December 4.

* The MLC 7-12 Drama Class will present “The Gift of the Magi,” a timeless tale of love and generosity set in turn of the 20th century New England. Presentations will be held in the MLC music room on Friday evening, December 19 at 7 p.m. and Saturday afternoon, December 20, at 3 p.m. The school is located at 710 11th Street North. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students and free for those pre-k and under. They are available for purchase at the MLC office. Light refreshments will follow the play.

SUMMER JANZEN WAS one of the MLC high school students who shared readings. Summer read from Luke 2:8-11. Also presenting readings were Elijah Stoesz and Isaiah 9:2-4 and Psalm 33:22; Kylie Klassen with John 3:16 & 17 and Danica Dick, with a poetry reading by Ann Weems.
