He married Rosalie Triplett of Comfrey at the West Sveadahl Lutheran Church of rural St. James, Minnesota, on April 30, 1960. They have resided on the Lindeen family farm since their marriage.

Ron followed his passion and started farming with his dad in 1958 after he attended Ag School at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. In 1966, Ron’s dad became ill, so he and Rosalie took over the farm, where they raised cattle and hogs and farmed grain.

Ron received the Cattlemen of the Year award and the Outstanding Service award from the Cottonwood Beef Producers. He was also named Minnesota State Cattleman of the Year in 1990. Ron was elected to the Adrian Township Board in 1958, was chairman for 25-plus years, and served until his death. Ron served on the church council of the past Faith Lutheran Church and also served on the building committee of the New Hope Lutheran Church following the Comfrey tornado. He also served on the Watonwan County Planning and Zoning board for 16 years, as service coordinator for the MSCA, and the Comfrey Community Education Board from the time it started until 2011 – a total of 37 years.
