Amelia Streich passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Amelia Theresa Streich was born April 12, 1919 in Brown County, Minnesota, the daughter of Andrew and Theresa (Groebner) Prokosch. She was confirmed and later united in marriage to Edwin Streich on November 16, 1939 at Salem Lutheran in Comfrey.

The couple shared their love of old time music and attended many dances. Amelia enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, baking, sewing, reading and loved animals – especially dogs, cats and horses. She was the “picture taker” for the family and provided many fond memories for years to come. Amelia demonstrated lace-making at the Butterfield Threshing Bee, where Edwin was a director and exhibitor. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Marie Schubert of El Segundo, California; a brother, James Prokosch of Barnum, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edwin, in 2003.
