Edward Savage

ed savageFuneral services and interment for Edward Savage, 80, of Wabasso, Minnesota, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in rural Comfrey, Minnesota, located at North Highway #258. Sister JoAnne Backes will be officiant. Friends may begin gathering at the cemetery at 9:30 a.m.

He passed away at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso on Tuesday, July 29,, 2014.

Edward Leo Savage was born August 28, 1933 , the son of Jerome and Grace (Tuttle) Savage on the family farm in Cottonwood County, Minnesota. He moved to California with his family in 1942 and attended school in Richmond, California. His family moved back to Comfrey in 1949 and Ed attended Comfrey Public High School. He worked for several area farmers until he entered the United States Army in 1954. Ed served his country for two years and was honorably discharged in 1956. He then worked for Lisney Construction as an iron worker, where he traveled all over the country. Ed became a resident of Golden Living Center in Wabasso in March 2014.

He is survived by two sons, Troy (Lisa) Savage of Metairie, Louisiana and Shawn Savage of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one grandson, T.J. Savage of Metairie; one granddaughter Hillary (Justin) Brandner of Slidell, Louisiana; one brother Deward (Violet) Savage of Le Sueur, Minnesota; and two sisters, Karen (Gordie) Lorentz of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota and Carol (Tom) Cullen of Shakopee, Minnesota.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Michelle Savage; brothers, Richard “Dick” Savage and James Savage and a little sister, Ellen Savage.
