Watonwan County races for November

County office-holders running unopposed; races for one-of-two commissioner posts

Filings closed on Tuesday, June 3 for federal, state and county offices. The filing period for municipal and school district offices runs from Tuesday, July 29 until Tuesday, August 12.

In Watonwan County, the incumbents in county offices have all refiled, and will be running unopposed. These include:

* County Auditor/Treasurer – Donald Kuhlman.

* County Recorder – Joy Sing.

* County Sheriff – Gary Menssen.

* County Attorney – Stephen J. Lindee.

* Soil & Water Supervisor District 1 – No candidates filed.

* Soil & Water Supervisor District 3  – Rich Enger.

There will be a race for Watonwan County Second District Commissioner with Keith Brekken challenging incumbent Mark Rentz. In the fourth district, Scott Sanders will be unopposed.

General election voting will be held Tuesday, November 4.
