Two-vehicle broadside crash on Highway #60 in Watonwan County on February 4

Drivers of each vehicle, the only occupants, receive non-life threatening injuries

A two-vehicle broadside crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon, February 4, 2014, at 2:52 p.m. on Minnesota State Highway #60 at the intersection with 620th Avenue in Watonwan County, west of Butterfield, Minnesota.

According to the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, a 2001 Pontiac Montana, driven by 58-year-old Daniel Fossing of Windom, was traveling westbound on Highway #60 when a second vehicle, a 2012 Kia Sportage driven by Bradley Krueker, 45, of Butterfield, going south on 620th Avenue, failed to stop at the stop sign. That caused the Fossing vehicle to collide with the Krueker vehicle.

Both drivers, the only occupants of each vehicle, were taken to Windom Area Hospital by the Mountain Lake Ambulance Squad, with non-life threatening injuries.

The Pontiac Montana and the Kia Sportage were both considered totaled.

Assisting the Highway Patrol at the accident scene, aside from the Mountain Lake Ambulance, were the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, the Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office and the Mountain Lake Fire Department.
