Officers are named, year ahead mapped out
The Butterfield-Odin Public School (B-OPS) School Board met in a weather-delayed monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 13, and spent the agenda reorganizing and preparing for a new year.
Joel Penner was named as the board’s chairperson, with Leon Wenner selected as vice-chairperson. The remaining slate of school board officers include Andy Pierson as treasurer and Tammy Wolle as clerk. Additional school board members include Kristy Haseman, Diane Peterson and Renae Meyer.
The salary per diem will remain the same as last year – $50 per meeting and $100 per day-long meeting.
The Triumph State Bank of Butterfield and the Odin State Bank of Odin were named as the school district’s official depositories, with the St. James Plaindealer recognized as the official newspaper.
Monthly school board meeting times were shifted from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Meeting will continue to be held on the third Monday of each month, with the exception of January, February and June, as holidays fall on those dates.
