Cobras lose twice in home triangular

In a home triangular Thursday night, December 8 in Mountain Lake, the Windom/Mountain Lake (W/ML) Cobra wrestlers dropped a pair of close dual matches. They fell in Big South Conference action to Luverne by just one, 39-38 and to Worthington, 42-31. Worthington swept the tri with a 48-25 win over Luverne.

Hampering W/ML on the night were a pair of forfeits in the lineup and injuries to two of the squad’s senior wrestlers.

The Cobras opened against the Cardinals, and four wrestlers claimed falls – Brett Willaby at 113 pounds, Yanick Tade at 152, Jeff Wright at 182 and Jabari Carlton at 220. At 138, Alex Borsgard added a technical fall win and Zach Spinks, at 132 pounds, won by decision.

Spinks, at 132 and Jesse Jepsen, at 160, both won by falls for the Cobras against the Trojans. Borsgard, at 138 pounds, won by a major decisions and Willaby, at 113 and Kade Sammons, at 120, won by decisions.
