Wolverines claim big 64-19 victory
The Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverines Varsity Football Team’s home opener over Nicollet at Munson Field last night (Friday, September 9) was propelled by 30 points scored in the second quarter.
Senior quarterback Levi Stoesz was the Wolverines’ offensive leader, running for 179 yards – and three touchdowns – as well as tossing to his receivers for another 133 yards. Drake Harder was on the receiving end for two of those passes, garnering 75 yards and one touchdown. On “D,” Weston Osland snared a pair of interceptions.
The win posts MLA at 2-0 on the young nine-man season, with Head Coach Tim Kirk’s squad heading to Madelia next Friday, September 16.
