Wolverine football shuts out Fulda

MLA rolls over host Raiders, 50-0

 

IT WAS A SHUTOUT for Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine football on-the-road over Fulda, 50-0, in the team’s fial regular season game. Sophomore quarterback Abraham Stoesz was hot, tossing touchdown passes of 54, 56, 20 and 27 yards for the Wolverines, with junior Drake Harder nabbing two of those TD throws. In the game, Stoesz was good on 10 of 16 attempts for 192 yards. In a balanced running attack that accumulated 272 total yards, MLA (5-3) was led by Reynaldo Capetillo with 44 yards on six carries. Levi Spittle completed six of 12 passes for 102 yards and an interception for Fulda (1-7). Dalton Slinger carried 12 times for 90 yards. Aldo Cardenas had eight tackles and one sack for the Raiders. At the half, MLA was comfortable ahead 44-6, adding a TD in the third quarter en route to the win. The Wolverines, seeded #4 in Section 3 9-Man playoffs, will face the #5-seed Hills-Beaver Creek at Munson Field in Mountain Lake on Tuesday, October 24. Kick-off will be at 7 p.m.
