MLC orators compete at TMB Junior High Meet

THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Christian (MLC) Junior High Speech Team members – four seventh-graders – competed in the Tracy/Milroy/Balaton (TMB) Junior High Speech Meet on Thursday, February 18. Zoey Smith of St James, above right, received a first-place medal in Great Speeches, while Elizabeth Linscheid from Butterfield, above left, received a blue ribbon for being just one out of the top six in original Oratory. Sara Quiring in Serious Prose and Jack Lepp in Humorous, both of Butterfield, also competed. There were 189 entries in grades six-through nine. (Kim Friesen photo)
