Tough season opener at home for MLA boys basketball

Visiting Springfield held hot hand to claim win

 

IT WAS A tough opener for the Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine boys basketball squad. The Maroon-and-Silver could not overcome the Springfield Tiger duo of Isaac Fink and Decker Scheffler, dropping the home contest 96-46. Fink and Scheffler combined for 50 of the Tigers’ points. Regan Syverson led MLA scorers with 11 points. Spencer Khamvongsa tossed in eight points, and Weston Osland hit for seven. By halftime, Springfield had carved out a 51-25 margin. The boys will head to Okabena on Thursday, December 7 to take on Heron Lake-Okabena (HLO).
