Cobras open mat season with third-place finish at Glencoe

Nine W/ML wrestlers are place winners

 

WINDOM/MOUNTAIN LAKE (W/ML) Cobra wrestlers opened up the 2017-2018 mat season with a third-place finish at the Glencoe Invitational Tournament, despite having open weights. Nine wrestlers were place winners. Of those nine, a trio wrestled to first place – Brett Willaby (120), Kade Sammons (132) and Alex Borsgard (145). Second place was earned by Zach Spinks (152) and Jabari Carlton (195). At 170, Jesse Jepsen finished in third. Two Cobras – Micah Holmberg (113) and Trenton Renquist (126) – ended in fourth place. At 285, Eli Mutz was fifth. In addition, Alex Borsgard was named “Outstanding Wrestler” of the tourney. On Tuesday, December 5, W/ML heads to Madelia for a dual meet, and on Thursday, December 7, to Worthington. They will compete in the Jackson Tournament on Saturday, December 9.
