MLPS School Board election vote next Tuesday

Field of four for three seats

A field of four candidates will be vying for three seats (four-year terms) on the Mountain Lake Public School (MLPS) School Board. Election will be Tuesday, November 7, voting from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Two of the three incumbents re-filed – Matt Gohr and Tim Swoboda – with Doug Standerwick opting to not run again.

Also filing were David Bucklin, who has previously served on the school board, along with new faces Carolyn Karschnik and Audi Nickel.

However, Swoboda had his affidavit for candidacy rejected by the Office of the Secretary of State because he did not include his phone number on the filing. He would then have needed to run as a write-in candidate, but decided against making that move.
