Helen Lorraine Erickson was born on May 26, 1921, to Richard and Esther (Peterson) Erickson on a farm North of Bingham Lake, Minnesota. Her father died from cancer when she was 14-months-old. Along with her mother, brother and sister they moved into Windom, Minnesota, where she grew up. She graduated from Windom High School in 1940 and worked at the Lewis and Lewis Drug Store. Helen worked there until she married Frank Jungas on October 25, 1942. While Frank served in the South Pacific during World War II, she lived in Los Angeles, California. They returned to Mountain Lake in November 1945, where they made their home and raised their three children, Richard, Mary Ann and David.

She was a member of the Alliance Missionary Church and served in many positions including Sunday School teacher, in the choir, as youth advisor and with Alliance Women.

Helen enjoyed volunteering at Swan Lake School, Eventide, Good Samaritan and Care and Share. She also served 12 years on the Heritage Village Board.

The Lord gave her and Frank 60 years together, and even through the difficult years of Frank’s stroke, he blessed them and proved faithful.

Helen is survived by two sons, Richard (Marcia) and David (LaVonne); one daughter, Mary Ann (Mark) Casci; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 2003; her parents; brother, Floyd (Verna Mae) and sister, Lola Mae (Paul).
