MLA Wolverine Homecoming Tailgating Party slated

United Prairie to sponsor fundraiser at Munson Field prior to football game

United Prairie will be sponsoring at Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine Homecoming 2017 Tailgating Party this Friday, September 29, serving from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., at the Munson Field admissions gate.

The menu will include hamburger, chips, beans, cookie/bar and drink for $6. Additional hamburgers will be $2.50 each. Adding cheese to your burger? Fifty cents for the topping. An additional cookie/bar will be available for 75¢ each. Take-out boxes will be available.

All proceeds will benefit the Wolverine Booster Club.

As well, a donation can and cards will be available on another table to benefit Hills-Beaver Creek Patriot injured football player Trenton Bass. Trenton was injured in a football game against the Wolverines on Friday, September 8. Trenton, a 17-year-old from Hills who had just begun his senior year at H-BC, sustained a traumatic neck injury when making a tackle in the game at Munson Field. That same night, he underwent surgery at Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to repair two broken vertebrae. The surgery went smoothly, but evidence of paralysis is currently present. He is able to move his arms and is able to feed himself using the a device that aides with gripping. Since the game, Trenton has been gaining more feeling down his torso, from his breastbone almost to his navel. And he was recently named Homecoming King 2017. Trenton is heading this week to Craig Rehab in Denver, Colorado to continue the recovery process.

The Wolverines will take on Renville County West with kick-off at 7 p.m.
