This year’s kickoff for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (Awana) in Mountain Lake will be held this Wednesday, September 6, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Meetings will continue on Wednesday nights.

Children in kindergarten-through-second grade will meet in a new location this year, Community Bible Church, located at 500 Klein Street, and children in grades three-through-six will meet at Mountain Lake Christian (MLC), located at 710 11th Street North.

Awana sponsors in the Mountain Lake area include the Community Bible Church, Cornerstone Bible Church and Alliance Missionary Church.

Awana is a non-denominational youth ministry whose goal is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and train them to serve Him in accordance with 2 Timothy 2:15. It consists of a fun mixture of scripture memorization, large group time/singing and the ever-popular game time. Awana is an instrumental way to ground children in the knowledge of the scriptures.
