Second accident in three days at 60/1

Impala/Peterbilt semi tractor trailer involved in the two-vehicle crash

 

 

A second accident in a span of three days occurred at 11:10 a.m. this morning (Monday, August 14) at the intersection of Minnesota State Highway #60 and Cottonwood County Road #1, southeast of Mountain Lake, sending one to Windom Area Hospital.

According to a Minnesota State Patrol report, the driver of a 2011 Chevrolet impala, 97-year-old Orville Warner of St. James, was southbound on County Road 1, attempting a left turn onto Highway 60. A 2013 Peterbilt semi tractor trailer, driven by Thomas Huber, 52, of New Ulm, was eastbound on Highway 60. However, witnesses to the accident and members of the Mountain Lake Ambulance Squad and Mountain Lake Fire & Rescue state that the semi was westbound.

Warner was transported by Mountain Lake Ambulance Squad to Windom Area Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Huber was not injured.

Also assisting the State Patrol were Mountain Lake Fire & Rescue, the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office and the Mountain Lake Police Department.
