MLA boys stymied by RRC

Lose to conference leaders by nine, 52 to 43

 

THE SECOND MEETING of the Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine boys basketball squad – a home one – with the Red Rock Central (RRC) Falcons, saw the locals playing tougher with the Red Rock Conference leaders than in their first face-off, however falling short by nine points, 52 to 43. Senior Levi Stoesz led the Wolverines with 21 points. He also grabbed five rebounds, dished out a pair of assists and nabbed two steals. Aaron Fast also hit for double figures with 11, along with working under the basket for 11 boards. The senior added two blocks and a steal to his stats on the night. Tommy Kraemer had eight rebounds, two blocks and one assist and steal while scoring four points. Kris Menken also scored four, had seven rebounds, and assist and one steal. Brady Rasmussen scored 22 points to lead RRC. Trevor Pederson had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Falcons. At halftime, MLA was down 27-20. The 13-6 Wolverines (7-4 in the Red Rock) host Fulda for Elementary Night this Friday, February 10.,
