Second half explosion leads MLA boys over HL-O

Win conference game by 24, 83 to 59

 

THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Area (MLA) Wolverine boys basketball team took an eight-point halftime lead (46 to 38) and compounded the advantge in the second stanza, cementing a 24-point win (83 to 59) over conference foe Heron Lake-Okabena (HL-O) at Okabena. Levi Stoesz led MLA with 29 points. Marcus Boyd scored 12, while Kris Menken scored 10 points and grabbed seven board. Aaron Fast had nine points and six rebounds. The Wolverines, now 16-7 overall, 10-4 in the Red Rock Conference, go to Adrian for another conference tilt on Friday, February 24. They close out the season at home on Monday, February 27 against Westbrook-Walnut Grove. Logan Knutson scored 13 points with four assists, and Lee Gunther scored 11 points with eight rebounds.
