Lois J. Marston

Lois J. Marston, age 80, formerly from Mountain Lake, Minnesota, and lately of Hugo, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred Jungas, and her husband, James B. Marston, whom she loved and cared for until his death in 2009.

Lois graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, in 1958. After college, she courageously served her communities as a detective in the St. Paul Police Department in St. Paul, Minnesota, and then as a social worker for Watonwan County. From the mid-1970s until shortly before her death, Lois was a CLU ChFC agent with New York Life Insurance Company.

Throughout her life, she was a smart, driven, determined woman. Lois’ joy in life was her family. She is survived by her children, Jamie and John Kovacs, Holly and Mark Ashton, Thomas and Sandra Marston, Scott and Melissa Marston and John and Jessica Marston. Lois, or “Grandma LoLo,” adored her 20 grandchildren and four great-grand children, who also survive her, along with a large extended family including siblings (Barb Loewen and Jack Jungas, both of Mountain Lake), in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

To facilitate the attendance of Lois’ widespread family and friends, services in her honor will take place as follows: Thursday, July 6, 6 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesoa and Saturday, July 8, 11 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake.
