truman-johnson-doneFuneral services for 78-year-old Truman Leslie Johnson of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday morning, November 28, 2016, at the American Lutheran Church in Windom, Minnesota, with Reverend Gene Alms officiating. The church is located at 906 Prospect Avenue.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 27, 2016, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel. The funeral home is located at 420 10th Street North. A meal will follow at PJ’s II in Bingham Lake, Minnesota from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A second visitation will be held at the church the day of the funeral service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Burial with full military honors will be on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Reverend Randy Tabor will officiate.

Truman Johnson passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society of Mountain Lake-The Village in Mountain Lake.

Truman Leslie Johnson was born on April 1, 1938 in Lamberton, Minnesota, the son of Gilbert and Luella (Slater) Johnson. He grew up in the Lamberton area. Truman served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959.

Truman was a welder and worked at Toro in Windom for many years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycles. He was a member of the Freedom Riders Motorcycle Club. Truman loved to just hang out with friends and family.

He is survived by his children, Brian Johnson of Windom, Todd (Julie) Johnson of Mountain Lake, Tami (Dan) Schroeder of Lakefield, Minnesota, James (Susan) Johnson of Worthington, Minnesota and Jeremy (Jodi) Johnson of Windom; eight grandchildren, Jacob (Tylyn), Brady, Logan, Alyssa, Caitlyn, Madison, Rebekah and Morgan; three great-grandchildren. Carson, Aleigha and MaddiLynn; a brother, Gilbert Johnson Jr. of Silver Bay, Minnesota and a sister-in-law, Diane Johnson of Windom.

Truman was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin and infant Lloyd, and sister-in-law, Diane Johnson.
