Accident claims life of pedestrian

An accident in the parking lot at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-St. James, has claimed the life of a 98-year-old St. James man, David D. Dick. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 17, at 1:28 p.m.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Dick, as a pedestrian, was crossing in front of a 1990 Peterbuilt dump truck, driven by Scott A. Lewis, 49, of Good Thunder, when it moved forward after unloading its load of asphalt. Lewis was not injured, and no damage was reported to the dump truck.

Assisting on the Minnesota State Patrol on the scene were the Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office and the St. James Police Department
