Robert E. Scott

robert-scottFuneral services for 84-year-old Robert E. Scott of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, September 29, 2016, at Center Point Church of the Assemblies of God in Mountain Lake. The church is located at 810 3rd Avenue.

A private interment will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral services from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Robert Ellis Scott was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on February 2, 1932, the son of Robert Kern and Lily Virginia Scott. Robert attended school in Tupelo until his father’s death left him the responsibility of tending to the family farm. Robert was a hard worker from a very early age. He worked on the farm until he began his work in carpentry and finishing sheet rock.

On August 26, 1996, Robert married his wife, Beverly Scott, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Robert and Beverly moved to Mountain Lake in order to be with their daughters.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed hunting deer, fishing and became active in the Center Point Church in Mountain Lake. In 2012, Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized. He then dedicated his life to his faith and love for God. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Robert is survived by his wife, Beverly Scott of Mountain Lake; daughters, Debra (Bill) Mathias, Michelle Smith and son, Steve Scott, all of Arkansas; sister, Charleen (Andrew) Goad of Illinois; brothers, Joe (Betty) Scott of Arkansas, Jerry (Jean) Scott of Florida, Cliff (Susie) Scott of Arkansas, Cleburn (Alice) Scott of Louisiana, and Lee of Louisiana; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda; son-in-law, Andre and sister, Jeanette.
