According to a report on the KEYC News 12 website – http://www.keyc.com – New Richland Police Chief Scott Eads has died in an apparent suicide, in a report from the Waseca County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened last night (Monday, September 12), in rural Freeborn County.

Chief Eads, age 40, a native of Mountain Lake and graduate of Mountain Lake Public High School, leaves behind a wife, Candace, and two children.

The website goes on to state that, “It is normally not the policy of KEYC News 12 to report on suicides, but because Chief Eads is a public figure, we have chosen to provide this information.”

The New Richland City Administrator and the Sheriff’s Office will be handling all calls and police matters for the city of New Richland until further notice.
