Mountain Lake man involved in I-90 Freeborn County accident

Jeremiah Helferich has no apparent injuries

Nineteen-year-old Jeremiah S. Helferich of Mountain Lake was involved in a two-vehicle accident at 4:44 p.m. on Friday afternoon, July 17 on I-90 at Milepost 163 in Freeborn County.

Helferich, the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling eastbound on I-90 when it rear-ended a 1997 Saturn Coupe, also heading east, driven by 58-year-old Pamela J. Bassett of Buffalo, with passenger, Mary M. Draayer, 68, of Austin.

Helferich and Draayer had no apparent injuries, while Bassett was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Silverado received minor damage, with the Saturn severely damaged.

Also assisting the Minnesota State Highway Patrol on the scene were the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and the Hayward Fire Department.
